'Books on Fire' Contest To Give Away Kindle Fire HD Loaded with Books
The Books on Fire contest, which runs through the end of December, is giving away a new Kindle Fire HD loaded with 13 books of science fiction, fantasy, and historical fiction (including mine!).

Several links for new blog readers

Hey, thanks for swinging by the blog!  If you're new here, I thought I'd post a few links to get you oriented.

First, if you're coming over from Glimmer Train Magazine, you might be interested in a story of mine that was first published by them back, I think, in 1997, called "After Kimberly."  It's available as a download on Amazon for $.99.  (Though if you're really interested and broke, just drop me a note and I'll send it to you for free.  Hey, I've been there.)

Second, I've edited the Blue Penny Quarterly, a free online literary magazine for many years:  our latest issue (optimized for iPad, but readable on most devices that read PDF files, which is most devices) is available here.  Some great stories from some awesome writers that I recommend you check out.  (Did I mention it was free?)  And, hey, we're open now for submissions.
